Peace

In a day when stress and strain lead many to prescription medications and other substitute alternative measures to aleve frazzled nerves we are ever being stretched beyond what man could possibly bear.
The cares of this world.. and I'm not talking about illegitimate ones. Those very cares that have to do with the sustaining of our everyday life; our employment, the schooling of our children, our retirement welfare, the politics of the world. Anyone of those things by themselves alone can so rap us up as to entangle us and frazzle us out of our minds.
Sometimes I think its the conscientious ones who are so stressed. Others go around like there is not a care in the world because I think in their life there truly is no care. There is no true care or concern about what is happening around them and they are out of touch with life around them.
There is that noble concern for the care of your fellow man and if that is not there then we do not share in the heart of Christ for "God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son" and even the Son said.." Go ye out and make disciples of all the earth " and " love one another even as I have loved you." for how can I say I love God and do not have love for my brother.
There is a calling out of this world into the kingdom of God's peace where all of our cares are swallowed up in Jesus. We are discipled in every area into a place of peace into Jesus
What do we do when we have all these cares and we lose our peace?

I found a good reading from an Oswald Chambers devotional entitled " Are you ever disturbed". I'd like to share it with you.
" Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you."

There are times when our peace is based upon ignorance, but when we awaken to the facts of life, inner peace is impossible unless it is received from Jesus. When Our Lord speaks peace, He makes peace; His words are ever "spirit and life.

" Have I ever received what Jesus speaks? " My peace I give unto you"- it is a peace which comes from looking into His face and realizing His undisturbedness.

Are you painfully disturbed just now, distracted by the waves and billows of God's providential permission, and having, as it were, turned over the boulders of your belief, are you still finding no well of peace or joy or comfort; is all barren? Then look up and receive the undisturbedness of the Lord Jesus.
Reflected peace is the proof that you are right with God because you are at liberty to turn your mind to Him. If you are right with God, you can never turn your mind anywhere but on yourself. If you allow anything to hide the face of Jesus Christ from you, you are either disturbed or you have a false security.

Are you looking unto Jesus now, in the immediate matter that is pressing and receiving from Him peace? If so, He will be gracious benediction of peace in and through you.

But if you try to worry it out, you obliterate Him and deserve all you get. We get disturbed we have not been considering Him. When one confers with Jesus Christ the perplexity goes, because He has no perplexity, and our only concern is to abide in Him.

Lay it all out before Him, and in the face of difficulty, bereavement and sorrow, hear Him say, " Let not your heart be troubled."

I had a very short conversation with Roger a few minutes ago. The doctors have now removed Clayton’s respirator and he’s breathing on his own! Please read the note from Roger below and together with his thanks, I too would like to add a huge THANK YOU TO ALL for entrusting this child in your hearts and in your prayers. Susie and I just got back from the hospital. They've removed his pacemaker and his heart is beating real well. They've also removed his 2 bleeding tubes coming from the heart. He is slowly awakening as they have discontinued the sedatives. When I baby talked to him, telling him Papaw was here to take care of him, his eyes fluttered wildly. Almost made me cry! And you thought that I was a tough guy :-) They will remove his breathing tube this afternoon sometime and we will go back in hopes of better communicating with him. He'll at least be able to make sounds. Please tell Rudy, Terry, Linda, and all of your people at work, etc., that Susie and I are forever grateful for their love. Forever. The greatest thrill of my life has been getting to raise my own grandchildren! How bout them apples? Attached is his latest pic....... Roger

Prayer for Jane

Dear Family and Love Ones,

Oh that we would take an agressive stand of faith for Jane and ask the Lord of Heaven to come down and touch her in the many different ways she so needs Him right now and in that very important way to be touched in body as to rid her of this cancer. Would a number of us just take a stand of faith in prayer for Jane and just call on the Lord to remove this cancer from her body. Our Lord many times said to ask and it will be given and to believe and it would be done and I know there are mysteries where that is concerned but I so want to be simple when it comes to these urgent reguests. I just know that the Lord is so ready to touch us when we so need Him and so ready to move heaven and earth because He has already shown that He does that in love for us... Oh that the Lord would hear us today where Jane is concerned and touch her and heal her and meet her right where shes at and let her know that Jesus rules and reigns over all. Pray for her dear people of God. pray for Jane!

In Jesus name we so pray today

love to all,

Rudy

Rudy, while you’re in the prayer mode . . . please see the email below from my cousin Ann. We had a very sad week after losing Grandma Kolb, but had a chance to visit with some of my dad’s family who came into town to help. Unfortunately my Aunt Jane could not travel from Washington because of the cancer that she continues to fight. Please keep her and her caregivers in your thoughts and prayers. –Jenna

Well, Dad and I are back from Texas . And were we ever glad to be home! It wasn't a fun trip, but it was great seeing the family and reminiscing about what a character Grandma was. We miss her dearly.

Mom did well while we were gone, staying with Sam and Melissa and the girls. We took a more proactive approach this time and went in for fluids and meds ever 2-3 days, so she has been stronger this round, but unfortunately, other issue seem to have progressed. The tingling in her hands and feet are driving her nuts, but other than rub them, I don't know that there is anything we can do. She's also had a sore throat since round one, and most of the time she could ignore it or at least live with it. Now it seems her 'sore' may have broken open and is so painful she can't eat.

In the past they have told us that throat pain is common and gave us meds to numb it. We've decided that's no longer good enough. We have a Dr. appt. this morning to see if we can push for a closer, inner/visual, examination. Mom has also decided to go off of the study. She just isn't strong enough to do eight more rounds of chemo. Off the study, she'll only have to do four more, then radiation.

I'll try to let you all know the outcome of today's appt. Thanks for your support.

L, Ann

p.s. Jen & Russ, can't find your folks email. Hope all is well with the family.

Taran and I urgently request your prayers –I just found out that our niece Monica Ann has been hospitalized in Lake Charles with emergency complications with her pregnancy- and the doctors have induced labor. Monica is in distress, and the baby is as too- her heart rate is dropping while Monica’s BP is out of control. Cameron's Tent

Dear Family and Loved Ones,

Lets pray for Cameron. Our Lord's mercies and compassions knows no bounds. His love has no limits and there is no measure to His grace. This young man has such a heavy, heavy load. May we ease it by bringing Him to the mighty God of the Heavens and the Earth who can lift any weight that anyone can imagine. ' Lord Jesus, we present you Cameron and these tumors that are in his brain. This is your child Lord. We lift him up to you in faith trusting your unfailing love and abilities. We lift up to you the whole family and all thier financial and emotional cost. Come in Lord like a flood of grace in the power of your Holy Spirit and minister to them. Hear all of us now as we entrust ourselves to you faithful Lord God of all the living. In Jesus name we pray."

Love to all,

Dad:
Here is a boy I would like for you to put on your blog prayer list. He is 15 and has major brain and spinal tumors, that have the potential of becoming malignant at any time.
His family LOVES the Lords, as does he. He suffers from major and constant pain. As you can read, his family has significant financial costs b/c of his condition.
All of my family, Mark and I pray for him already, and it would be beautiful to have you pray for Cameron and his family. Shelia, his mother is an awesome inspiration. She loves the Lord in such a real way. (as I am sure you can read)
Much Love to you all. Can't wait to all be together Thursday.

This past Sunday, while I was listening to the message at church, one question REALLY stood out to me:

"What if our impatience was getting in the way of what God had in mind?"

I always think that Cameron's been going through this for a long three years now – and all the things that come along with his illness. I always think what a long suffering it has been. When I heard that question, though, it really hit a nerve. What if my impatience is getting in the way of what God has in mind through Cam being so sick?

He's had a pretty hard month – lots of added pain and pressure this month, it seems. He's on schedule for his spinal tap in August; maybe that will help ease some of this pressure. I always look at the MRI scan and (even still) it blows me away. The size of the one on the left is gargantuan. I can only IMAGINE what the pain is like. He doesn't give it all away – he's the "strong, silent" type. We don't sleep much these days, as night time seems to be the hardest right now. I'm hoping as summer fades so does some of this pressure.

As soon as we get the monthly MRI and the quarterly lumbar puncture out of the way, they will be assessing him for a neuro-bolt and cranial expansion again. We will be consulting not only with the docs here, but also contacting Dr. Billica in Colorado, as well. The MRI/spinal tap date is August 14 th so I'll update again as soon as we know anything.

Please pray over the attached pic – this time around I'm not going to ask for prayers for desires for my family and for God to bless those desires – this time around I ask that you pray for God's will – whatever it may be. Maybe if we turn focus on just that this month, my impatience won't get in the way of God's will.

Thank you for your continued prayers, thoughts, sensitivities and concerns.

~She

Dear Family and Love Ones,

We have a special request of prayer to place before you. Nothing touches the heart more than injury to a little child. A Father, Mother, Grandfather, Grandmother's heart is torn apart by the cry of a child. They are truly innocent in many ways and our very souls goes out in protection for them.

Well, little Clayton Emmons is schedule for heart surgery August 8th. He is the grandson of Roger and Susie Emmons. With that measure of heart the Lord has given us to share in one anther's burdens let us carry little Clayton before the throne of our Lord's grace.

'Jesus hear us and touch little Clayton and heal his heart. Help us to intercede for him these next couple of weeks. Lord, You are so compassionate and big hearted. Bring little Clayton near to your chest and make him whole. We pray in your precious name. In the name of Jesus!

love to all,

Rudy

I have a very special prayer request to make of my special prayer networkers. For those that know Roger and Susie Emmons and for those of you that do not… Roger is a schoolmate of mine. He and his beautiful wife Susie are very fortunate to be the grandparents of 3 beautiful children. Their youngest grandchild, Clayton, is in need of our prayers. Clayton, as one of God’s smallest children, is scheduled for heart surgery on August 8th. Can we please gather together and hold Clayton and his family up in prayer. Thank you and God Bless you my prayer friends. Barbara

Dear Family and Love Ones.

Here's a man through whose hands our God healed so many and now he faces this terrible disease. Can we lay our hands on him in prayer and together raise him before our Lord and his and ask our great God to do a radical miracle in his body. How the mercy of God abound in such earthen vessels even as it did in Dr Pete. May the grace of God in Jesus yet abound in him in an ever increasing way. May the Holy Spirit rest and settle on him to give him that assurance that the Great Physician is at his side now. In the name of Jesus we pray. ( I remember one thing my grandmother told me. Not one prayer prayed to Jesus goes unheard if we have faith and believe that He is. ) ' Lord, deliver Pete we pray. Deliver him by your mighty arm.'... Do remember Dr. Pete and bring his name before the Father today.

love to all,

Rudy

I would like to place a name before you for prayers. His name is Dr. Pete Dalton, and he is truly a Christian man in every sense of the word. A retired ob-gyn, he has spent many years now offering his services as a doctor through our church mission trips which is how I first met him – I’ve been on two Mexico mission trips with him and Guatemala (where he took such great care of me when I got sick there). He is gentle and humble and is now waging a valiant fight against metastatic cancer. It really hurts me to know of his suffering. I know you will put him in your prayers. Linda

Dear Family and Love Ones,

Is God's heart measured by ours? How many souls can He carry in the palm of His hand and not grow weary? The measure of His heart no man shall ever pen and the love of God no one shall ever be able to tell. It goes beyond the telling.

Debbie emailed me concerning Valerie and Debbie's dad Roy and immediately I touched something of the love of God for them. Deb has her own dramatic testimony how the Lord healed her of a broken back and so she can speak in much faith and its from that place of confidence in God that we all can stand. God is not limited by time or extent of damage. He looks for only one thing; Faith. Lets pray with all faith for these two. Lets pray for Roy that our dear and precious Lord would so heal any spread of this cancer and lets also pray for Valerie that the love of God would reach down in the hand of Jesus and absolutely restore her. Remember their names today and in the coming days.. Father hear us as we bring to you Valerie and Roy. Heal them and touch them by your mighty power! In Jesus name we pray!

love to all,

Rudy

Hi Rudy,

Please pray for my girl’s step mom, Valerie. She was diagnosed with a rare form of nasal cancer and it has spread into neck and starting to spread into her spine. She is having more tests today to make sure it hasn’t spread into her kidneys, lungs or liver. My heart just breaks for her. In the natural, this is a very aggressive cancer, but I praying for a total healing in her body. She starts radiation soon and the doctors have told Rick, the ex, that she will be on a feeding tube after 3 weeks of radiation for 3 months because she will be so sick she won’t be able to eat…
Rudy, our God can heal her. I just know it. They have a 5 year old son who is confused and scared with his Mommy going thru so much.

My Dad was also diagnosed with prostrate cancer 2 weeks ago. Both of them in the almost the same day. His name is Roy , I am also standing on a complete healing for him. He will get the results of the rest of his test back tomorrow. I am believing it has not spread anywhere else.

God bless you,

Debbie Owens

Dear Family and Love Ones,

Jane is entering into a rough time with chemotheropy treatment and drugs to treat her cancer. Let us lift her up in prayer during this time so that she might find the strength and grace of Jesus and the Holy Spirit to carry her through any pain and difficulty, any weakness or depression. Continue to ask Jesus to eradicate this cancer from her body. Pray with all faith believing. Whenever Jane comes to your mind just let the Holy Spirit pray through you. The Father knows why He brings His loved ones to us for prayer; all we know to do is lift up our hands to Him and pray that He who sits at the Father's right hand is able to do above all that we can ask or think and so we pray for one another. " Lord hear us as we pray for Jane! Heal her Lord! Touch her and heal her! Be near to her these days! In Jesus mighty name we pray!

love you all,

Rudy

Here’s an update on my Aunt Jane. Thank you so much for the prayers. She’s going to have a hard time for the next few months and all of the prayers can really help her through this. –Jenna

Subject: Jane's Chemo
Hi,

Jane had her first chemo treatment yesterday (the strong medications to treat the most aggressive cancer first), and she is trying some additional nausea medication today. Ann took her in for her followup appointment with the Dr. today and he wasn't pleased with the blood tests and gave her some other medications by IV. She will go back again tomorrow for continued monitoring. This is the first of 6 treatments over 12 weeks, followed by another set chemo drugs for an additional 6 treatments over 12 weeks. If we can keep on schedule we should be done about the end of November. Don't know when the radiation will start after the chemo, immediately or within a couple of weeks, but it is scheduled for 5 days a week for 6 weeks.

It's starting out rough, but hopefully we can get the treatments figured out and it will improve for Jane. Please keep her in your prayers.

prayer tent for Jane

Dear Family and Love Ones,

Our Jesus was so full of compassion when He moved among the crowds. As many as He touched He healed. He now sits at the Fathers right hand and asks us to pray. I believe His heart is still full with that very same compassion. That we would somehow tap into that heart of God and pray for our sister Jane. Let us come to the Father with faith in Jesus and ask him to touch her and to eradicate this cancer thats in her body. AS many dys as you can remember her just mention her name to Him as say ' touch her Lord and heal her . in the name of Jesus we pray." Let us all enter into this tent of prayer for her again!

love to all,

Rudy

Update on my Aunt Jane. Thanks again for all of your prayers. I sincerely appreciate it! --Jenna

Hi, We went to Seattle this week for a second opinion with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (a combined team from: Fred Hutchinson, Uof W Medical, Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center ). It was a very good trip, got lots of additional information and confirmation of our local Dr.'s treatment with minor suggestions. Also learned of a nation wide research study that Jane could join if it seems best. She has a biopsy scheduled for her Thyroid on June 13 and the outcome could influence her eligibility for the study (if there is cancer in her Thyroid, she would not be a candidate).

Bottom line, we start chemo on June 18 (as part of the study or individually) for about 24 weeks, followed by 6 weeks of radiation and hormonal therapy. Should be ready to celebrate around New Years.

Please keep us in your prayers,
Rich

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Acts 1:8 but you shall receive power when the ' Holy Spirit ' has come upon you and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.

Acts 2: 1-4 2...there cam from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind.... 4...and they were all filled with the 'Holy Spirit' and began to speak with outer tongues as the 'Spirit' gave utterance.

Acts 8 14 Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John.

15 who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.

16 For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus

17 Then they began laying hands on them and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit!

How is it that in this day and age that so many boast of living the divine life of blessing so very very few actually know this true experience of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. So many boast about be rich in the knowledge of God and even in Jesus but when it comes to the Holy Spirit they become defensive like a defensive lineman for the Denver Broncos. My suspicion is they are afraid of something they have not experienced and are afraid to say or admit that they do not know the reality of the person or work of the Holy Spirit in this personal way. It is tragic to say the least that arguments begin to ensue all in order that the individual will not have to deal with this matter.

The tragedy in this is that the very divine promise of God in the ascension of His Divine Son in the pouring out of the Holy Spirit upon all mankind is negated by the refusal of God's own people due to their own ignorance and fear. What a tragedy that the rivers of God would be dammed up once again by His people's unbelief.

The other side to this is if His people have a ear to hear His voice then they will hear the Lord when He said.. " I must go for I will send another Helper, the Comforter and He will lead you into the knowledge of all truth." If Jesus had not said it Himself we would have told Him to stay but Jesus knew that by the Help of the Holy Spirit we would be supplied.

How foolish it would then be if the Lord sends the Holy Spirit and we would not let Him into our lives and allow Him to do that very thing He was sent to accomplish.

We can see in the very first verses of Acts how fantastically this Holy Spirit came rushing in and announcing His coming like a noise of a mighty rushing wind! The disciples were so prepared to receive. Are we? Then the Holy Spirit rested on their heads. Then they were FILLED with the Holy Spirit and it manifested itself in them by them speaking in unknown tongues.

It was just what Jesus Himself had prophesied.." You shall receive power from on high when the Holy Spirit descends on you."

Some may then think , well...it was just for the disciples for service and not everyone should have this experience. I will tell you this. Every believer in the early centuries knew intimately the person and work of the Holy Spirit. The only believers that are devoid of it is this generation because of some terrible teaching or pent up reaction that we just need to get over. We need to stop behaving as mere children and repent and lift our hands up to God and His Christ and say.." Whatever it is that you have promised for me forgive me if I in my unbelief have hampered it. Help my unbelief and rain down upon me the Holy Spirit."

In the third set of verses I show how some believers in another city had already received the word of God and believed it and were even baptised in the name of Jesus ( does this sound like most of the believers this day?)

but they sent them Peter and John who were experienced brothers who were under the anointing of the Lord and knew the Lord intimately

Peter and John entered into prayer for them that they would receive the Holy Spirit( notice they did not simply put them in water and say ceremonial words to some how symbolically believe it had somehow happened. They were there to pray that it would 'in fact happen'. How long they pray we do not even know but thank God that there were brethren that knew that this matter had to be taken care of and it was significant if the brethren were to go on)

Then they layed hands on them and as they were.... they were receiving the Holy Spirit.

A divine transaction was occurring. OH PRAISE THE LORD!

What makes this divine transaction so marvelous? Peter states it when at the day of Pentecost all the people wanted to know what in the world was going on with these many believers being baptized in the Holy Spirit and speaking in other languages..

Peter said " This is a proof to you that this Jesus whom you crucified is now both Lord and Christ."

It is because Jesus is seated at the right hand that the promise of the Spirit has been released on His many sons and daughters. HE IS NOW SEATED AT THE FATHERS RIGHT HAND! OH HALLELUJAH! Jesus is Lord!

So we don't want so much to give place to the Holy Spirit but we want the believers to walk in that place of life they should be walking in. In that new creation life empowered by the Holy Spirit and more than that... that their heads would be lifted and they would see their ascended Lord High and Lifted up.

Now by that leadership of the Holy Spirit drawing us into an ever-increasing knowledge of the truth every believer would come to know Him. He died for every man and woman and child so that the divine promises would fall upon our head and we would live in that life of baptism in the truest sense...dead to self, dead to the old creation, alive to the members of the body of Christ, alive as a new creation being led by the Spirit. We have a King!! His name is Jesus! He is seated on the throne and we are citizens of that kingdom. This is the gospel. And by this we shall raise our sons and daughters that the promises would remain for their sons and for their daughters till that day when Jesus comes and establishes His kingdom in the fullest sense. Till that day..our prayer remains...THY KINGDOM COME...THY WILL BE DONE..ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN....Amen.

Dear people of God do pray for Monica today. Our Father will hear us if we will pray. Let us once again join together in faith in prayer for another one of His children and so fulfill the Lord's will by loving each other even as He loves us. " Lord hear us as we pray for Monica. Answer us. Touch her and heal her and draw her ever nearer to yourself. We pray in your precious name. In the name of Jesus we pray!"

love and blessing to all in that very name of Jesus.

Update re Monica. Let's keep her in our Prayers:

We have just found out that Monica has a Parvo virus, which is rare in adults but not in children. However, when adults get such an acute form, as Monica has, it takes months to get over it. She is still in severe pain and all of her joints are swollen. The doctos are saying that this could go on for months. Please, continue to pray for her. Even though she is on an antibiotic, there is no known antibiotic that will touch this since it is a virus. They are talking about keeping her on a low dose of an antibiotic as a prevention because she is so run down. She is also on a lot of Vicodin because she is in severe, severe pain. She has had to take a leave of absence from school with no idea when she will be able to return. She has a long hard road to walk. Thank you for praying for and caring about our daughter.Faye

More on Being Saved and Baptism

" He who believes and is baptized shall be saved " Mark 16:16

" Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ have been baptized into His death." Roman 6:3

Let me start out by saying straight off that He who believes IN JESUS and is baptized in water which typifies and signifies the death and resurrection union of the believer with Jesus shall be saved.

Is it water alone that saves us? Nonsense. It is the spiritual reality behind it. Is it Jesus alone that saves us? Absolutely. For both faith in Jesus and baptism belong to the same. It is my experience of Jesus. My confession and testimony through baptism is but putting feet to my faith. I am saying to the world and the universe through my baptism that I am joined with Christ. I am even testifying of some powerful things through faith.

I am testifying through baptism that I have entered into the death of my Lord so that as He died so I died too in Him. There is a passing away of the old Adam for in Adam we all sinned for we were all in Adam. As the same was true of Adam so the same is true of Christ for we are in Christ if we believe and if we believe in Christ then when Christ died we were in Him and died in Him so the old Adam passed away. When Christ arose we also arose in Jesus as a new creation to the glory of God by the power of the Holy Spirit.

When we are baptized we enter into the water to signify our death and union with Christ's death and when we are lifted from those waters we are lifted a new creation in Christ Jesus. We died to that old creation life and all associated with it and something also associated with it was my self-centeredness for in Adam man and woman became so independent of God and self loving and not caring for their brothers and sisters but in Christ we are suddenly made One Body and members one of another so when we are raised we are raised now as members into the Body of Christ. Immediately we are brought into body life with others like us and so we enter into fellowship with other believers by the Holy Spirit.

A great thing happened in baptism. A life-changing , life-altering thing happened. An old creation passed away and suddenly a new day dawned and a new creation was ushered in the very person of Jesus and we were ushered in IN HIM. If we could just grasp that through faith and realize what possession we already possess and walk in that oh the glory there would be to the Father and the testimony in life there would be through the church today but as I have said before ...I believe a certain blindness has entered in and the Holy Spirit has to do a work to give us new eyes again.

Another matter concerning baptism which I will not shy away from is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. All of these are gathered up in this word baptism and we as the children of God have been so robbed of our promised possession that I cannot remain silent on this matter. I will speak more on it next time.

My desire is to bring all this down to the present to where we live. How does this effect where you live? What does this have to do with changing diapers if you have children? What does this have to do with putting gas in your Suburban if you own a gas guzzler? What about my front yard and the trees trimmings that I need to gather up on Saturday? oh yeah.. I didn't mention those extra calories I'm trying to peel away at the gym on my free hours seeing I have such a few? What does this do with anything I refer to as life?

This is my greatest fear dear people of God. We here in the West especially the United States are caught up with these matters and as real as they are I must be honest with you and tell you they are really not life at all. There was a time when we as a people weren't so caught up with these things. We weren't so busy a people. Our economy and way of life has made us so busy we have ruled God out. Jesus is not even allowed to be uttered in the work place. You can't say the name of the Lord at work or you may be cited for some sort of violation. Now everyone else can talk about their life but if you talk about your life in God your out of line. The basic family unit which encouraged faith in God has been so eroded there is little talk about trying to get together with other believers for bible study during the week. You make mention of it and it seems like a dark cloud descended on the whole household. The Individual is so inundated with tasks that the kingdom of God may be the last thing that enters his or hers mind. We must be honest with ourselves if we want to really let Jesus meet us right where we are.
It was the same when Jesus came in the flesh. People are people and we need things and our loving Lord so knows and what does He most graciously say..and oh that we today would hear His voice
" Don't be concerned about what you shall eat or drink, or about what you shall wear... don't you know that all the nations SEEK after these things... but not so with you.. look at the sparrows in the air.. look at the lilys in the fields.. they nether toil nor do they spin.. not a sparrow falls to the ground without my Father knowing and not Solomon in all his glory was arrayed like these... but you..seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt 6:25-34
There is the need for us first as individuals to really enter into our promised possession in Christ and to walk in it by faith in a very revolutionary way. To truly live by faith this life through union with Him through that daily walk, minute by minute, hour by hour testifying to the world that our Christ died and is risen.
Then there is a need to find others of like faith that will encourage and walk with us together as members of that same body.
To raise our children in the light of that truth and anything that we face practically to raise it up to that reality of Jesus and to let the kingdom of God to come to bear on our lives no matter where it may settle.
That we may read His word and come to know His will more and more till the day dawns and He comes back again as He said He would but till that day He is establishing His kingdom in you and me and let us not shrink back on the shores of that river but let us all dive in calling out His name knowing He will hear us and answer.

Subject: Update on Jane
Hi,
We saw the surgeon this morning and Jane got the drain tubes and 1/2 of the staples removed from her incision, will get the rest pulled next week. He said she is doing good, but he'll continue to keep an eye on her for a little while.
This afternoon we met with the Oncologist, his recommendation is for 2 - 12 week chemo treatments since she has a different type of cancer in each breast and they don't like to mix the chemicals. So we will begin in 6-8 weeks and have 24 total weeks of treatment. He always suggests getting a second opinion and we are setting up an appointment in Seattle, hopefully within the next couple of weeks. He said that he didn't feel we'd need radiation.
Rich

Dear People of God do pray for Jane as if she were your own.
Take her into your own heart and bring her before the Lord in prayer.
I continue to be taken with the fact of the many multitudes that came to the Lord who were ill and the compassion of our Jesus to heal.
One of the very hallmarks of our faith in redemption is summed up in the words of Isaiah which Matthew also qouted when speaking of our Christ and the apostle Matthew quoted it in the context of the healing miracles that were taking place by the hand of our Jesus,
" ..When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill. This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: " He Himself took our infirmities and carried away our diseases." (Matt 8: 16,17)
The very next verse from Isaiah that Matthew is qouting is Isaiah 53:5 which reveals our Lord dying for our iniquities.
It is a glorious fact that our Lord cares for both the body and soul of every man and woman and has made provision in His own body for each of us. Praise His name.

He has made provision for Jane and thats why we can come to Him knowing that His mind is this way and we can pray with all faith and entrust ourselves to God who is able to do all things exceedingly and abundantly all that we can ask or think.

It's good to know the specifics about a thing so that it will help us to pray so when you read this again read what Rich had to say and then just ask the Holy Spirit to give you the words to pray.
God bless you all for interceeding on Jane's behalf!
love to all,
Rudy

Baptized Into Christ

" Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ have been baptized into His death." Roman 6:3

Is there any room for baptism in this century of hip hop, 401k plans, cruise ship vacations and the like. I would say as long as men and women have to deal with their identity in life, baptism will be right at the heart of it all.

Baptism has been a subject that eludes many and some wonder why it is even necessary. Even Jesus who was the very Son of God was baptized by John the Baptist and John found it difficult to do so but Jesus insisted it must be done and when He was baptized by John immediately the Holy Spirit like a dove descended upon Jesus and rested and the heavens opened and a voice said, " This is my beloved Son in whom I am well-pleased.".

If we see Jesus go into those waters for whatever reasons we would want to know why.

I'm going to enter into them deeply then later on come back out on the shallows.
First lets consider Jesus baptism. Don't be afraid to enter with Him.
From the above experience of our Lord's Baptism we can garner several truths.
First there is a spiritual reality: Jesus is the Son of God.
Second, there is a practical outworking: Baptism.
and finally Third: The affirmation and confirmation from heaven of that divine truth: the Holy Spirit descending, and a voice speaking of the Father's good pleasure.

The spiritual reality is there; Jesus could be no less the Son of God than He already was. Even though some say He needed to be baptized in order to be anointed for ministry - I take some exception to that for how more anointed does one have to be when your God. I think it goes a bit deeper than that and I believe Jesus and John knew it was not about anything like that and all Jesus told John was that it was "for righteousness sake." Look at the verses if you have to. ( Matt 3:14-15 ). Jesus just knew He had to do something on this earth that testified to something that was already true in heaven.

It was ALREADY true concerning Jesus that He was the anointed one of God and that death worked in Him 24/7 so that when John baptized Jesus the Holy Spirit descended like a dove AND RESTED upon our most precious Lord. There was a resounding display right there in front of the whole universe for we find all the trinity coming together and the Father breaking in at the moment to testify vocally himself! THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, IN WHOM I AM WELL-PLEASED. Matt 3: 1-17

It is important to mentioned this first thing for all of us who are baptized afterwards are baptized into Christ and this is a picture of that fullness though only He is solely THE BELOVED SON and no one can ever take that rightful place. John said I am not fit to remove his sandals and right after he said that John also said , " He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." Matt 3: 11. John saw that the baptism of repentance he was baptizing the Israelites was just a shadow to a greater a fuller baptism of Christ.

Sadly Baptism is not fully understood and appreciated otherwise we would be dripping with water gladly wet in that testimony of the death and resurrection of our Jesus. It has so much power and significance to the believers life if he/she would grasp it by faith.

For instance there's this whole terrible ' skeleton in the closet ' -we call 'sin' -that seems to have its free course in this day and age. I don't say this for judgement sake but in order to help us deal with this matter of the flesh. I'm seeing all these self-help classes popping up that are suppose to deal with these matters and issues but I'm afraid it's all pruning away at the branches of a tree and they really don't do anything to remove the source of the problem and nothing will deal with the issue better than to get at its very root.
When Paul was writing to the Romans about baptism it was all in relation to sin. Read Romans chapter 6:1,2 and 3and you will see that the topic I started is totally in relation or in context to the issue of sin in the life of an individual. He basically was saying... how can you keep on sinning if you've been baptized! Or.. How can you be alive to something that your dead to!

Now its not like something magical happened when you were baptized but I will say this; Something radical happened to you when you first believed in Jesus; something life altering, something life changing, something so revolutionary that it extracted something in your very DNA makeup and caused you to become someone altogether different...you became a new creation. Baptism is the testimony of that! even as baptism was the testimony that Jesus was all that He was. When you believed in Jesus -there was a spiritual baptism so to speak ,you were baptized into Christ but there must be testimony of that here on the earth as well for it is fitting for righteousness sake.
The Father desires testimony of His will accomplished on earth as it is in heaven.

What is going on here!? Why this whole matter of testimony?
That is a subject all by itself but suffice it to say there are rulers and authorities in the heavenly places and there is this whole matter of giving glory and manifesting that in our own vessels for it is the reason we were created in the first place. There is so much more but I can't get into that otherwise I will deviate. Right now the matter before us is being baptized into Christ and the power over sin.

When you see this whole matter of union with Christ you begin to see your standing in the place of power in life over sin. This is not a knowledge issue either. It is a matter of revelation.

A day will come in your walk as a believer when everything will seem so shallow and you will desire a deeper walk with Him or something will present itself as an obstacle to your life in Christ and you will need a deeper knowing of Him to go on. That day you will bow down before Him and make a cry for Him to be your help and in that day He will open your eyes to see these things.

He will show you that He has so met you 'IN HIMSELF'.
It will not be sufficient to have your life as you once did you will know deep down inside that you will need this deeper relationship with your Lord and He will lead you into His very self by the leading of the Holy Spirit. It will not be anything magical but something quite life changing for the eyes of your understanding will be opened to see Jesus in ways you had not seen Him before and life will take on deeper meaning and significance. You will begin to walk as a new creation on a new path with different eyes and a much healthier disposition.

I will write one more thing down and stop and will take it up some other time for this is a great topic. When we enter the waters of baptism we are essentially entering into the death of Christ so that as He died so we too died in Him and as we are being raised out of those very waters we are being raised into the likeness of that very resurrection of our Christ. This is a great mystery but may the Holy Spirit reveal it to those who seek Him.. Romans 6:4-11

I will write more later

Save me Lord? From what?

" He who believes and is baptized shall be saved.." Mark 16:16

Saved from what?
The IRS? The dentist? my Boss? a bad T.V. schedule? Long work hours? sickness? high mortgage payment? Debt?
what about self-importance, abasement, indulgence, sexual sin ( yeah I said the dirty word )

Maybe there's somethings I don't want to be saved from.
Maybe I'm a selfish person, full of greed, materialistic and as sinful as can be and I want the liberty to be and live any way I full well want!

I think that for the most part this is the context most people think and live in.
I call this 'kindergarten mentality' and somehow this has become the shallow existence most of us especially here in the United States find ourselves in. There has been a lowering of character and personal maturity that has set us back to at least a 100 years and that for people living in the United States for in the late 1800's we had not even made that moral decline that has now stunted our growth to that of school children.
Not to say we are not concerned with all these things and that they are not issues in our life but it is quite surprising to find that there is not a greater depth in our citizens and people. We are not concerned with higher and more noble thoughts, dreams and aspirations. What has entered our diet that has produced such a temperance and complacency. In a word I call it 'Blindness '.
Blindness- if a person cannot see then nothing is there.
I have to interject at this moment for another great illness that might raise its head even now at the reading of this is 'the inability to receive any form of correction or criticism ' The school teacher who was merely installed by the school system was able to correct and bring in any form of criticism to her class and the students profit ted from it but far be it if we should say ANYTHING negative about ourselves and our present state of affairs for there will be whiners and complainers stomping out like someone set the school on fire.
Maybe something else effected our diet and that was the lack of chefs who were willing to prepare a well cooked meal who were not afraid to say things the way they were for fear of upsetting the masses.
Whatever happened .. a blindness settled in and a person couldn't even see what it was they needed to be saved from and baptized INTO.

Who will save us from this blindness? Who will heal a blind nation and generation? Who is compassionate enough and loving enough to do so?

Jesus, the Son of the Living God.

" For on that day the deaf shall hear words of a book,
And out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see." Isa. 29:18

Its this gloom and darkness that many find themselves in and they don't even know its gloom. We have a new word for it - "Depression"

A new Depression has set in that is greater than the 'Great Depression' and that is the 'Dark Depression' that has set in across the whole world but we are feeling it here even among many so called churches.
Darkness is just being devoid of that light that illuminates all that is and is not. What I find so surprising is that many profess to be believers but walk in darkness so it only tells me a blindness has set in or I wonder if they had ever seen at all this Jesus who so illuminates all things.
Once having seen Him you know all things and all things are judged and you need no one to teach you. You know what is godly , right and good before His eyes and you walk in the light of His glorious face and by the power of the Holy Spirit. You rejoice to read the teachings of Jesus in the scriptures and fellowship with other believers and you are being changed from glory to glory into the likeness of Jesus. (2 Corinthian's 3:18)
If you are living short of that then a blindness has set in or there needs to be a full seeing of Jesus. The apostle Paul says that if there is not a continued knowing of Him then what is there to living.. " That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings being made conformable unto His death..
.. and I press on that I may know Him and to find a righteousness which is through faith through Him.. ' the letter to the Philippians.

It's not some cloud that we want to descend from heaven to reveal to us Jesus but Jesus did tell Peter when after Peter walked awhile with Jesus responded to a question and answered.." Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God." that Jesus responded and said flesh and blood didn't revealed this to you but my father in Heaven.
In other words, you didn't get that from just somebody telling you. It wasn't from some T.V. evangelist or something you learned from cathecism, this isn't something your mama or papa told you... you aint just whistling dixie! Something has broken in upon you from heaven! Something revolutionary! Something extraterrestrial .. not of this earth so to speak... something from heaven has broken in and the communication has come to you directly from the Creator of the terra firma your standing on. This is the kind of seeing that opens the eyes of the blind.

The Father of Heaven through the Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to any man or woman. How that occurs is by the preaching of the gospels and that is nothing less than the continued teaching of Jesus. We are a privileged nation in that we can read the bible without persecution but that can change if this blindness continues but seeing we have this bible and we have meetings where it is being taught we pray that there are brethren who teach Jesus and not some other doctrine and we pray that He is being revealed or I pray that individuals will take it upon themselves to look for their Lord through the reading of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Isaiah said, " for in that day the deaf will hear the words of a book"... oh that we would hear and our ears would be opened. The Holy Spirit is well able to reveal the Son. In this continued looking on His face a light will break upon us and we will see all things and even those things we need to be saved from but we will have the power to be saved from them as well and that leads to baptism and that will be my next topic Lord willing.

"Father, Glorify yourself in your Son Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit we pray."
