Peace

In a day when stress and strain lead many to prescription medications and other substitute alternative measures to aleve frazzled nerves we are ever being stretched beyond what man could possibly bear.
The cares of this world.. and I'm not talking about illegitimate ones. Those very cares that have to do with the sustaining of our everyday life; our employment, the schooling of our children, our retirement welfare, the politics of the world. Anyone of those things by themselves alone can so rap us up as to entangle us and frazzle us out of our minds.
Sometimes I think its the conscientious ones who are so stressed. Others go around like there is not a care in the world because I think in their life there truly is no care. There is no true care or concern about what is happening around them and they are out of touch with life around them.
There is that noble concern for the care of your fellow man and if that is not there then we do not share in the heart of Christ for "God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son" and even the Son said.." Go ye out and make disciples of all the earth " and " love one another even as I have loved you." for how can I say I love God and do not have love for my brother.
There is a calling out of this world into the kingdom of God's peace where all of our cares are swallowed up in Jesus. We are discipled in every area into a place of peace into Jesus
What do we do when we have all these cares and we lose our peace?

I found a good reading from an Oswald Chambers devotional entitled " Are you ever disturbed". I'd like to share it with you.
" Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you."

There are times when our peace is based upon ignorance, but when we awaken to the facts of life, inner peace is impossible unless it is received from Jesus. When Our Lord speaks peace, He makes peace; His words are ever "spirit and life.

" Have I ever received what Jesus speaks? " My peace I give unto you"- it is a peace which comes from looking into His face and realizing His undisturbedness.

Are you painfully disturbed just now, distracted by the waves and billows of God's providential permission, and having, as it were, turned over the boulders of your belief, are you still finding no well of peace or joy or comfort; is all barren? Then look up and receive the undisturbedness of the Lord Jesus.
Reflected peace is the proof that you are right with God because you are at liberty to turn your mind to Him. If you are right with God, you can never turn your mind anywhere but on yourself. If you allow anything to hide the face of Jesus Christ from you, you are either disturbed or you have a false security.

Are you looking unto Jesus now, in the immediate matter that is pressing and receiving from Him peace? If so, He will be gracious benediction of peace in and through you.

But if you try to worry it out, you obliterate Him and deserve all you get. We get disturbed we have not been considering Him. When one confers with Jesus Christ the perplexity goes, because He has no perplexity, and our only concern is to abide in Him.

Lay it all out before Him, and in the face of difficulty, bereavement and sorrow, hear Him say, " Let not your heart be troubled."

I had a very short conversation with Roger a few minutes ago. The doctors have now removed Clayton’s respirator and he’s breathing on his own! Please read the note from Roger below and together with his thanks, I too would like to add a huge THANK YOU TO ALL for entrusting this child in your hearts and in your prayers. Roger attached today’s picture of little Clayton! Love to all … Barbara

Susie and I just got back from the hospital. They've removed his pacemaker and his heart is beating real well. They've also removed his 2 bleeding tubes coming from the heart. He is slowly awakening as they have discontinued the sedatives. When I baby talked to him, telling him Papaw was here to take care of him, his eyes fluttered wildly. Almost made me cry! And you thought that I was a tough guy :-) They will remove his breathing tube this afternoon sometime and we will go back in hopes of better communicating with him. He'll at least be able to make sounds. Please tell Rudy, Terry, Linda, and all of your people at work, etc., that Susie and I are forever grateful for their love. Forever. The greatest thrill of my life has been getting to raise my own grandchildren! How bout them apples? Attached is his latest pic....... Roger

Prayer for Jane

Dear Family and Love Ones,

Oh that we would take an agressive stand of faith for Jane and ask the Lord of Heaven to come down and touch her in the many different ways she so needs Him right now and in that very important way to be touched in body as to rid her of this cancer. Would a number of us just take a stand of faith in prayer for Jane and just call on the Lord to remove this cancer from her body. Our Lord many times said to ask and it will be given and to believe and it would be done and I know there are mysteries where that is concerned but I so want to be simple when it comes to these urgent reguests. I just know that the Lord is so ready to touch us when we so need Him and so ready to move heaven and earth because He has already shown that He does that in love for us... Oh that the Lord would hear us today where Jane is concerned and touch her and heal her and meet her right where shes at and let her know that Jesus rules and reigns over all. Pray for her dear people of God. pray for Jane!

In Jesus name we so pray today

love to all,

Rudy

Rudy, while you’re in the prayer mode . . . please see the email below from my cousin Ann. We had a very sad week after losing Grandma Kolb, but had a chance to visit with some of my dad’s family who came into town to help. Unfortunately my Aunt Jane could not travel from Washington because of the cancer that she continues to fight. Please keep her and her caregivers in your thoughts and prayers. –Jenna

Well, Dad and I are back from Texas . And were we ever glad to be home! It wasn't a fun trip, but it was great seeing the family and reminiscing about what a character Grandma was. We miss her dearly.

Mom did well while we were gone, staying with Sam and Melissa and the girls. We took a more proactive approach this time and went in for fluids and meds ever 2-3 days, so she has been stronger this round, but unfortunately, other issue seem to have progressed. The tingling in her hands and feet are driving her nuts, but other than rub them, I don't know that there is anything we can do. She's also had a sore throat since round one, and most of the time she could ignore it or at least live with it. Now it seems her 'sore' may have broken open and is so painful she can't eat.

In the past they have told us that throat pain is common and gave us meds to numb it. We've decided that's no longer good enough. We have a Dr. appt. this morning to see if we can push for a closer, inner/visual, examination. Mom has also decided to go off of the study. She just isn't strong enough to do eight more rounds of chemo. Off the study, she'll only have to do four more, then radiation.

I'll try to let you all know the outcome of today's appt. Thanks for your support.

L, Ann

p.s. Jen & Russ, can't find your folks email. Hope all is well with the family.
